goat rocks basecamp adventure
Set along the banks of the Cowlitz River in Randle, Washington, our Goat Rocks basecamp is your launch point into the wild heart of the Pacific Northwest. Wide skies, moving water, and open meadow replace the noise of everyday life. You’re close enough to town for ease, yet tucked into 70 acres of private land that feels worlds away. Centrally located between Mount Rainier, Mount St. Helens, and Mount Adams, and just an hour from the trailheads, this two-night experience gives you access to some of the most spectacular terrain in the region.
Basecamp is welcoming, intentional, and grounded in connection. Our Meadows Edge site sits along the riverbank with easy water access, a sprawling maple for shade, and open meadow all around. Mornings begin slow with coffee by the river, and evenings wind down barefoot in the grass. At the center of camp is a shared space around the fire, with a covered tented kitchen set up with Snow Peak gear, plenty of complimentary coffee, tea, and hot cocoa, plus a few games and books to round it out.
Sunday is where it all opens up. We shuttle into the high country and you choose your own adventure, from a relaxed day at an alpine lake, shorter forested routes to big ridgeline efforts and point-to-point days along the PCT, all designed to finish at Walupt Lake. Cold water, sandy shoreline, and that feeling of a full day outside.
The weekend flows naturally. Arrive Saturday, settle in, and gather for dinner and a fire. Sunday is for the mountains. Monday morning is slow again, with coffee by the river before heading home.
And if the mountains aren’t calling, you can stay back at Basecamp or spend the day at Walupt Lake, swimming, reading, paddling, or simply being outside. This experience is designed to meet you where you are.
We handle the logistics so you can stay present. Optional transportation round trip from Portland, Or. to basecamp, meals, and fully outfitted Snow Peak camp setups are available, or you can keep it simple and self-supported. Come solo or with your crew. You’ll leave with dirt on your shoes, river in your hair, and something that stays with you long after the weekend ends.
