wildwood adventure days
Have you always wanted to experience the full length of Portland’s legendary Wildwood Trail, but weren’t sure how to piece it together? Or maybe you’re more drawn to spending a day in Forest Park, moving through a few miles at your own pace, or showing up to support and be part of the energy.
Whatever your version looks like, this is your invitation.
Join a community of like-hearted trail lovers for a self-guided day on the Wildwood Trail. Run, hike, or walk as much or as little as you want. Start where it makes sense for you, move at your own pace, and take in the trail in a way that feels right for your body and your day.
Because the Wildwood runs point to point, we’ll create a simple way for people to connect and coordinate carpools ahead of time. Share a ride, meet someone new, or make your own plan for getting to and from the trail.
Some will go the full distance. Others will drop in for a few miles. There’s no single way to do it.
After time on the trail, we’ll come together to celebrate the day with a post run gathering. The venue will be announced soon. If you’d like to join us for food, drinks, and connection, you can find more details and secure a spot below.

It depends on your pace, trail conditions, and how often you stop. Speedy runners can finish in as little as 5.5 hours. Most folks land somewhere between 6–9 hours. We’ll help you plan the timing that works best for you and your crew.
-
You’ll need the basics: trail shoes, a hydration pack or bottles, nutrition, layers, and a charged phone. After your consult, we’ll send you a suggested gear checklist based on your route, pace, and the forecast. We’ve got you covered.

It happens! We keep a stash of backup gear and clothing (men’s and women’s options) just in case. If you realize you're missing something essential—hydration pack, extra socks, you name it—let us know as early as possible and we’ll do our best to help.
-
Only a couple! There’s one flushing toilet at Pittock Mansion and two porta-potties near the south end. The rest of the time, you’ll be doing your business in the woods. If this is new territory for you, don’t stress—we’re happy to walk you through what that looks like. We’re not afraid to talk about poop.

No problem at all. You don’t have to cover the full 30 miles to have a meaningful experience. Many people choose to spend time on just a section of the trail, move at a slower pace, or adjust their plan along the way.
Because the day is self guided, you can listen to your body, take breaks when you need, and shape the experience in a way that works for you. We’ll also create a simple way for people to connect and coordinate carpools or rides if plans change, so you have options if you decide to start or stop at different points.
This isn’t about perfection, it’s about showing up, moving forward, and soaking in the journey at your own pace.

We’ll gather after time on the trail for simple, nourishing food and drinks designed to help you refuel and feel good. It’s a chance to reconnect, share stories from the day, and soak it all in together.
Options will include a variety of items to support different dietary needs, including vegan and gluten free. If you have specific sensitivities, feel free to reach out ahead of time and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
This special Wildwood Adventure Day celebrates Annalou’s 7 years alcohol-free and the power of community in motion. Proceeds support the Portland Alano Club, helping fund programs like RUN TRG and the Recovery Gym, which create access to movement, connection, and sobriety support.
Spend time on the trail in whatever way feels right to you, or support the day from wherever you are. Be part of something bigger than the miles.
After a day on the Wildwood Trail, join us for a gathering to refuel, reconnect, and share the experience.
How the fundraiser edition works:
On April 28, I’ll be running the Wildwood Trail end to end to celebrate 7 years alcohol free and to honor the people and programs that have made that journey possible.
If you feel called to move that day, you’re welcome to join in. Run a section, walk a few miles, or simply spend some time out on the trail in your own way.
If you feel moved to support the cause, please consider donating using the link below. Programs like RUN TRG and the Recovery Gym create access to movement, connection, and sobriety support, and they truly save lives.
