friday trail + coffee social

When: Every Friday / 7:45 - 8:45am / Starting Oct 10, 2025
Where: Tryon Creek State Natural Area /. Main entrance / Look for Annalou with a red bandana by the nature center

Start your Friday with a deep breath of forest air and a warm cup of coffee. Join us for a weekly community gathering centered around Shinrin-yoku—the Japanese practice of forest bathing. Whether you need a slow, reflective walk, a quiet trail run, or simply a chair and the sound of the wind in the trees, this is your space to show up as you are.

No pressure. No pace too slow. Come unwind, reconnect, and let the forest do its thing. Complimentary coffee is on us.

Bonus: If you’re signed up for one of our upcoming adventures, this is a great chance to meet fellow travelers, build trail camaraderie, and get some training in.

FAQs

  • We’re planning for about an hour, knowing some of you may need to head to work. Still, we encourage you to take the time you need. Come a little early or stay a little longer if it works for you.

  • We’ll have maps ready with a variety of route options, so you can choose what feels best, whether that’s a walk, a light jog, or a run.

  • We’re thrilled to be serving our favorite Portland roaster, Coava Coffee! We’ll be featuring their instant coffee line in both caffeinated and decaf options.

  • Yes, we’ll have a nice selection of teas to choose from too!

  • Starting October 1, 2025, there will be a parking fee. A daily permit is $10, but we highly recommend the annual Oregon State Parks pass—it’s just $30 for one year or $50 for two years, and it covers parking at all Oregon State Park properties. Passes can be purchased at the Nature Center or online through the Park Store. Not only does this save you money if you plan to visit more than a few times, but your purchase also supports the care and preservation of Oregon’s state parks.
